Places to Visit During Your Stay

The Flying Dog is located on the west end of Hinton in Countryside Estates.

  • Jasper is a scenic 45 minute drive away that includes wildlife, mountain scenery, and majestic lakes and rivers.

  • We are close to such attractions as Miette Hot Springs, Roche Miette, Fiddle River Valley, and Athabasca River.

  • A short drive will take you to Maligne Lake, Maligne Canyon, Mt. Edith Cavell, Whistler's Sky tram and the beautiful Icefield's Parkway.

  • Marmot Basin's world class downhill skiing and snowboarding is a 70 minute drive away.

  • Switzer Provincial Park is a quick 20 minutes north.  Here you will find the world famous Nordic Center for cross-country skiing, as well as numerous lakes for fishing, pleasure boating, hiking, and biking

  • In the surrounding area you will find Ogre Canyon, Sundance Lakes, the Hoodoos, historic mines and settlements.

  • Hinton boasts a scenic and challenging 18 hole golf course.
